Rescuing the neediest cats in the toughest neighborhoods

Get Involved

As an all-volunteer organization, we are ALWAYS looking for dedicated, diligent, and empathetic people to join our team and community. We rely solely on volunteers to help us continue our rescue and life-saving efforts so if you have a little or a lot of time, there are several ways to get involved. We just ask that you ensure you are serious about taking on the time-commitment and task before applying!

Here are just a few ways you can get involved, but there are MANY more that can be found within the application

Rescue Efforts

We are always looking for TNR certified volunteers who have a trap or a car and want to help us rescue within an area close to you. Please know that rescuing does not always go as intended and may take a few hours or a couple tries. You can easily get TNR certified at animalalliancenyc.org/feralcats/tnr-colony-care-resources/tnr-workshops-webinars/tnr-certification-workshops.

Transportation Help

We always need transporters to help get our rescues to their vet appointments, foster homes, or forever homes. All you need is a car and some time to dedicate! We then add you to a list and you can let us know when you are able to help.

Join the Foster or Adoption Teams

We receive several applications a day and are always looking for volunteers to help us process applications, including conducting home checks, field emails and work on other internal projects. If you are detail-oriented and a great communicator with some time to spare, please reach out!

Adoption Events

We host several adoption events in various locations within New York on weekends. We are always looking for help attending these events, helping pair potential adopters to their forever kitties, and helping us spread the word about our organization. If you have time on the weekends, love to interact with people, and want to be involved in the adoption process, this is a good way to do so!

ASPCA Spay/Neuter Coordinators

Help us in getting the animals in our care scheduled for their spay/neuter appointments. We’re also always looking for transport help on weekends to get cats to the ASPCA truck so they can be fixed and transported back to their foster/adopter after the surgery.
To drop cats off at ASPCA, you need to be TNR certified. However, for transport only, all you need is a car!

Administrative Help

If you have a few hours a week to dedicate, we are always looking for volunteers to help us post cats on partner sites or write bios so the cats in our care have a better chance at getting adopted. We always have a project that needs volunteers and time dedicated to it!

Fundraising & Grant Writing

Do you have grant-writing or fundraising experience? We are always looking for volunteers to help with our fundraising efforts. With over 200 cats in our care always, incoming funding are critical in us moving forward. We need volunteers to help us locate and apply to available grants, find corporate sponsors and look for ways to spread the word on the organization!

Barn or Sanctuary Programs

We are always looking for safe and cared-for places for our feral and semi-feral cats who do not thrive in a home environment. We can help walk you through the required acclimation process necessary for the cats to properly adjust and learn the new environments, so if you have a sanctuary or barn that you can offer one of these cats in need, please complete the application!

Shelter Partner Programs

We are on a mission to help as many cats in need as possible! We receive many rescue requests per day, however, do not always have a space for them to go after rescue. Therefore, we partner with shelters and other rescue organizations to help fill their needs for adoptable cats or kittens, thus allowing us to get more animals off the streets. This includes out of state shelters!

If interested in joining our community, complete the below application and specify which areas you are interested in helping with and feel free to select several. Please ensure you are serious about taking on the time-commitments and tasks!
